The Sky is the Limit

I had some time to kill between a class I took and an exhibit I was planning to attend, so I swung by the WRAL azalea garden one evening. As I finished there, I still had about 30 more minutes, so I went across the street to the Catholic Cathedral. Unfortunately, it was after 5:00 p.m., so I could not get inside, however, I walked around taking photos of various views.

As I was ending my visit, I came around the corner to see the cathedral in silhouette and the setting sun streaming its rays downwards. Even my cell photo camera could not capture the beauty of the clouds andd the sun rays. What is an artist to do? Paint the image with the clouds and sun rays!
